Ryden Construction was asked to oversee the installation and commissioning of a large Media Screen in Centenary Square Bradford. The Screen was to be eected in a first floor aperture that, purpose built to accomadate it. The problem was , the aperture ended up bigger than the screen!!
HOLLINWOOD WELDING'S TASK To fill in the gaps between the existing steelwork and the screen, with a pre-galvanised steel angle iron(to look like a picture frame) and provide a water tight seal between the angle iron and the Media Screen. It was not possible to use any ahesive bonding to the screen, as from time to time the individual panels may need to be changed. Also the architect had reservations about drilling or welding the angle iron onto the steelwork, as it wwas pre-galvanised and he had worries about corrosion.
HOLLINWOD WELDING'S SOLUTION To clamp the new angle iron to the steelwork and place a closed neoprene seal, between the Media Screen and the angle iron frame.
The job was completed on time and to the highest standards.
